这几天看到很多兄弟们都在为RATIO 值达不到要求烦恼，似乎那些大虾们都颇有不耐烦的意味，论坛嘛是人气越旺越好，总不会是想搞成一个大水管俱乐部吧？

After some thinkings, i 100% support 0.5 ratio.
I am using 2.5M ADSL so i understand how tedious for slow uploading.
i browse my old d/l history. Let's only talk about the DVD5 and DVD9 d/l. For me, the normal ratio is around 0.7 to 1. Sometimes even go way up to 2.5 . WHY? Because the download is SLOW. Slow = longer time upload = upload more. Moreover, NO SEED. Sometimes have to wait for seed to show up. I still remember some cases i wait for one or two weeks but the dxxn seed won't even show up and everybody stuck @ 95 or 98%. So for public server, slow d/l and no seed are common problems.
After i tried the ratio server, i notice first, FAST download. Before i never could finish one dvd5 within a day. No way. At least take me 2 days or 3 days. Second, LOTS OF SEEDS. i notice lots of movies have lots of seeds. some even have 20+ seeds.
So why people still upset about the ratio server?
It simple, because they need to seed.
For me, seeding do me nothing good.
1. waste bandwidth
2. waste computer uptime
3. waste power
4. slow all my online gameplay.
So when i use public server. i really seldom seed. i usually stop my bt when i finish d/l.
But if you think in another way. For both public and ratio server, your download time is about the same. For example, for public server, i need to spend 3 days download. But for ratio server, i need one days for download and two days for upload. So they both spend the same amount of time. The different is that for ratio server, you can enjoy your movie on the 2nd day . On the public server, you need to take risk of no seeds and you only can enjoy your movie one the 3rd or 4th day.
IMHO, if we lower the ratio. it will make us
1. slower download -- who cares about upload. people will stop uploading when they finish download or when they reach the low ratio.
2. No seed
But why people still argue for lower ratio?
Because they don't want to seed. They only want to download the movie and go. They don't care about other people. But they don't understand that fast download is driven by the 0.5 ratio. Just think, if we have 0.1 ratio, will you see that much seeds? will you have that FAST download?
Sorry for the long post. I am open for opinions.

i totally agree with you, under the mode of ratio , we can finish downloading a DVD5 in a very fast speed, what we need to do is only
uploading and sharing it after you have enjoyed the movie. which is much much better than downloading a movie for more than a week or even longer(i have experience to download a DVD9 in one month).
BTW, did you raise your ratio already ? i still remember you need to upload 19G in one week.

helphelp911的网络是2.5M的ADSL，RATIO一般都在0.7－1.0之间，有时能上2.5，普通BT下载时常常遇到下载速度很慢或者无种的困扰，在RATIO站点下载则速度很快，不愁无种，很多时候是在一天内就能下完。
做种是件很难受的事情，一是得需占用带宽，二是需花费上传时间，三是需花费电力，四是减慢了在线游戏的速度。所以很多人不愿做种，helphelp911本人在普通B T下载时也是一下完就跑。
但是你可以换个思路，不论是普通BT还是RATIO下载其实费时差不多，普通BT你得三天才能下完，而RATIO下载你一天就下完了，但得继续做种二天才能保持你的R ATIO值，同样花三天时间，但是你RATIO下载时可以提前二天欣赏电影了，何乐而不为呢？何况普通BT有时还不止3天甚至得冒着后来无种的风险。
降低RATIO值会带来的后果是：一是使下载速度变慢，因为没人去关心上传了，大家都下完就跑或者到了RATIO的最低线就撤种；二是无种。
那么人们为什么还会为RATIO值争论呢？原因是他们不想上传，只想下完就走人，不管他人死活，他们不知道他们的下载高速是由0.5这个RATIO值才能保证的。如果我们降低RATIO值到0.1，不知还会剩下几个种子，还能有这么快的下载速度吗？

1. 已經多次說過，除非你的網絡能力很好，除非你已經累積很多家當，38.82G的東西又怎會適合你呢？
2. 你這個大東西，到現在還未完成，只可以說是還在下載，未算完種！
若果是普通的D5，己經早已完種，已經一早可以享受做種的積分，一天24分，11天的分數也有264分，足夠換取5G的上傳，幫助你達到合格的比率了！
3. 控制下載速度，會令上傳跟著下降，結果得不償失，令整個網絡DOWNGRADE！

楼主看来不是很了解ratio。
我也是小水管。下的东东也不少，只要你愿意不关机做种，应该没问题的。
我现时的情况是：
分享率 0.869 已上传: 31.40 GB 已下载: 36.13 GB 积分 98.75 我的种子: 上传 5 下载 1
其间用250个积分换过一次5G下载量。这250个积分是我挂在网上换回来的。
我的网络情况是ADSL2M，下200K,上50K,而且也基本没有上传量。
我的经验是，尽量挂在网上换积分，应该还是混得下去的。
当然，最好有自己的资源上传做种。我准备学习一下，也来分享一下啦。

十分赞成ratio大于等于0.5，
理由很简单：有较高的下载速度，更不担心无种。
电影要一部一部地下，
片子要一部一部地看。
同一时间贪大求多，在普通BT未尝不可，原因是：不多下、早下，就有可能下不了、下不完，
这实际上是苦不堪言的，理由是：电脑长时间不停地运转，得不到休息；内存消耗太多，负荷太重；尽快刻盘，腾出内存，短期内花费太多。
可以说是，发烧友们大部分时间都用在下DVD上。
现在好了，在ratio上下载，感觉一下子轻松了起来。
一部一部地下，下完了一部，留着继续做种，
想看就用虚拟光驱，把电脑连到电视上看一下；想刻盘就刻下来。
电脑也可以按时休息了。

要提高R值最簡單的方式就是加入發布組，發別人沒有的資源！即使你下載做種，自己也下了一定的檔案，譬如4.5G，你得超過這個量，R值才會從1起跳。
如果自己發布，便是從0起跳，傳多少都是賺的。
要如何發別人沒有的資源？去學學給DVD加入中文吧！到國外站或自己去買或租三區的DVD來發帖，但是要搶時效，搶不過別站發的帖，人都跑去那兒了，就不是「別人沒有的資 源」！

大家在这里辛辛苦苦的保持0.5R是为了什么呢?是为了保住BT.OD的帐号吧~
那为什么要保住这个帐号呢?是因为这里有你想要的资源,下载速度,或者其他任何吸引你的地方吧~
那既然你愿意留在这里,那是不是就应该遵守这里的管理者制定的规章制度呢?
BTW,小水管相比之下的确需要付出更多,我想这里开设了Offers一栏也是在鼓励和照顾非发布组的成员发布资源,同时提高自己的Ratio.这点很好,只不过个人觉得似乎宣传的力度不够,很多人都不会去那边看看,有时我看到会员在回复里写支持,但实际上并没有点Vote...建议多做宣传.

要别人ＶＯＴＥ，是需要搞些拿得出手的资源，拿些烂片忽悠别人，别人当然不会买帐啦。
